Our Lesson Approach

The Village Guitarist has been teaching private lessons in the East Mountain Community since 1983. We Specialize in Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Piano, and Drums. With decades of teaching experience and techniques, we are sure to fit each student with the appropriate teacher to meet their learning goals.

Our goal is to provide each student with the knowledge, skills, and techniques to progress efficiently during their musical venture.

We achieve this by offering the student a variety of teaching methods that will be self motivating and applicable to their individual needs and wants as a musician. By utilizing a music genre or style that is preferred by each student, we can achieve the student goals in learning their instruments

Lesson Policies

The monthly tuition rate is based on 4 lessons per month.  Consequently, on a month that 5 weeks occur, the teacher will designate a week that will not have lessons.  It will be at the teacher’s discretion as to which day will be taken off.

As a courtesy to your instructor’s time, and schedule management, please give a minimum of one week notice for a missed lesson.  This will allow the instructor appropriate time to manage and schedule make-up lessons based on available times within their normal teaching hours.  Please observe your monthly obligations and notify the instructor at the beginning of the month when possible.  If one week notice is not provided, the lesson will be forfeited.

If the teacher cancels a lesson, a make-up time will be offered to students.  If one is not convenient for the student, the lesson fee will be refunded or credited to the following month.

Lastly, please obtain and save your instructors contact information for any necessary contact reasons.  The teachers manage their own schedules, so this is the most efficient means of notification for rescheduling or absences. The teachers prefer either a phone call or text message for lesson notifications.
